Physiotherapy aims to rehabilitate and improve movement disorders by using the most effective evidence-based methods. Our physiotherapists will strive to identify both the source and the cause of your condition in order to give you a long term solution and help you achieve optimal lifelong physical health .
Individual care plans are tailored to properly treat a variety of musculoskeletal and spinal conditions. A range of muscular mobilisation techniques – including dry needling, Kinesiotaping, and Game Ready – are used to keep you moving and manage pain. Regular appointments with your Physiotherapist will help to alleviate pain, improve your posture, promote injury recovery, prevent and treat sports injuries, and restore a full range of motion in your joints. Our physiotherapists put special emphasis on exploring the broad picture of your musculoskeletal condition, allowing them to offer you the best strategies to manage your injuries.
All physiotherapy appointments are claimable on the day through our HICAPS facilities.
The practice of ‘dry needling’ involves inserting a very fine acupuncture needle into a myofascial trigger point. This deactivates muscle spasm and tenderness within the muscle, promotes blood flow and decreases pain. It is typically used to treat pain from various sporting injuries such as hamstring tears, sprained ankles and ITB tension. It is also effective in treating plantar fasciitis, shoulder encapsulitis, and other chronic degenerative disorders such as arthritis.
Dry needling does not hurt and is therefore used as a treatment modality on very acutely inflamed joints. It is used for a wide range of disorders from the elite athlete to chronic pain conditions in the elderly. Substantial research has provided evidence-based support in the treatment of acute and chronic back pain, sports injuries, chronic neck pain, tension type and migraine headaches, pelvic girdle pain, knee osteoarthritis, lateral elbow pain and shoulder conditions.
All physiotherapists and chiropractors at Adelaide Back Care have advanced skills in dry needling techniques and many hours of hands on experience.
